Introducing myself and my blog part II

I decided to break it up for yall so you wont get bored......

After explaining everything I have been dealing with  as far as my hair, he looked at me and said "Oh baby, I'm sorry your going through this. you know I don't care I love you. What do you want to do?" I was shocked and  little dump founded and told him I didn't know and he suggested I look it up on the internet. So I typed in African American Hair into googles search engine, and i ran accross a ton of info. The main thing I saw was youtube. I had only used youtube to watch music videos from time to time, but never to watch other people. so i checked out several videos and ran across a lady who was midback  to waist length. At first I was surprise and confused. I have never seen so many black women with hair that length, without "good genes" or having something else mixed into their genes. I know I know. It sounds horribly ignornat for me to think that way. Most would expect me to be the last one to think on that level. Guess it was something un-noticably ingraned in me. So the one particuar lady i ran into was natural, I believe her name is lovelyti2002, and her hair was beautiful. so I started follwing her videos and coming across other related vids simular to hers. to make a long story shorter, I figured the only way to regain any health and length to my hair I had to go natural. so I started my natural hair care journey that lasted 3-4 months. I stopped wearing perms and started wearing wigs as protective stylings as she had suggested. She used a lot of natural oils and shea butter, and even hosehold food. I however, didn't have the money and access to thos items at the time. Plus thoes 3-4 months were one of the roughest and confusing months I have ever experienced with my hair. During my 3-4 month period I ran accross another lovely youtuber/blogger by the name dprincess28 i believe. her blog is http://www.glorycrown.blogspot.com/.

Dprincess introduced me to blogging, and staying natural with products you can find at local stores. she had been on her journey for 6 years I believe. Her hair looks amazing, and immediately captured my attention. No offense to lovelyti, but she was also very economical, and logical. So in retrospect she became my new guidance on hair. I watched every video she made and began making my own regimen.

At this point my hair repairing had turned into a hair obssesion. I then ran acrossed a lady name traycee through dprincess. She had created a sit http://www.k-i-s-s.biz/ and a blogspot http://www.keepitsimplesista.blogspot.cohim/ . What was unique about her was that she was mid-back length at the time, and also relaxed. Which was exactly what I needed. It seemed easier, and effective. following her and her website in combination with Dprincess I was able to venture out on my own. I was able to experiment with products with confidence, and set my goals for my hair. my main goal last year of 2009 was to gain my strength, health, and fullness, which I was able to achieve. Unexpectantly I was able to retain a little length. I went from ear length back to shoulder length.

pic of my hair a week and a half ago after a 3 month stretched and  a relaxer.

I am now on my journey reach armpit length by the end of this year 2010. I recently purchased Virgin Indian Remy Hair which I will definitely blog about. For now just introducing myself.

Introducing myself and my blog part I

Hello everyone, I am beautifully Human and I will be blogging about many things. I am not trying to be informal with my screen name, I am just aware of the dangers of having a blog and exposing yourself  on the internet. The reason for me starting a blog, however, is  because i was helped trumendously by other bloggers, and youtubers. Therefore, I am hoping with the knowledge that I have recieved thus far will be able to help others like myself. Hopefully I can  create another haven for African American women, and women ingeneral,to discuss hair, make-up, fashion, weight-loss, or everyday life and issues. I begun a hair journey almost one year ago in May, and a weight loss journey several weeks ago. The reason for my hair journey was because my hair began to fall out in early spring 2009. I have always worn sew-in weaves and my hair was able to maintain some form of health and length. However in the summer of 2008 I moved in with my now fiance. I was insecure in him seeing my real hair, in that he may be disappointed, because he perfer long flowing hair. I have always been confident in my appearance, outside of the periodic struggle with my weight. My hair however, wasn't an issue for me, due to it not being short or unhealthy just not long and flowing. My hair came to about shoulder length, but not to my satisfaction. Maybe because of what I realize now that my hair wasn't as healthy as I believed. I constantly wore weaves since my sophmore year in high school. I have always done my own installations, and became very good at them. In fact I was nominated for best hair my senior year of high school. Believe it or not my school was extremely diverse, but still the majority was considerable white. So eventhough I was constantly wearing weaves, I would give my hair a break, especially during the summer months out of school. My hair loved the breaks and grew like crazy, what I have now realized. But when I moved in with my honey, I never gave my hair a break. I was constantly, weaving, and relaxing without any breaks in between. He works second shift, and I will often do my hair while he was at work. A year after constant weaving and no true hair care whatsoever, my hair broke off horribly. I was beginning to not have enough lenght to even cover my tracks. So I went from an unhealthy shoulder lenght to an even unhealthier ear length, although some of my hair that stayed braided had maintain some length, it was horrible and beginning to fall out. Sadly I tucked my tail between my legs and told my fiance what I have been going through.
