My weight loss journey and goals

As of now you can go on youtube and wtch my vids on my goals and journey to getting fit. Here I will try to give more details as to what I plan to do and my weight-losss.

So I am planning to do a 5k in Oct. 2010. therefore there will be a lot of training involved in accomplishing this goal. Trust me i am doing a lot of research since i will be doing this all on my own, and with the support of my family and friends, and of course you! So as of tomorrow 6/9/2010 I will have 5months before the big event. if you don't know what a 5k is, it's 3.1 miles. Which if  you talk to most marathon runners thats baby steps to them. Which is fine for me, because I am not trying to impress anyone.

So I discovered this 12 week beginners training plan for marathons, and it's a little intense. it's almost based on if you're already a runner, which I am not. So because i am not in shap as much as i need be for this trainig prgram that's 3 months. I will be doing my own traing program for the first two months to build to the 12week training program. Mine will be somewhat simple, but not easy whatsoever.

Month 1
--: workout 4x's a week, 3 days intense cardio, 1 day simple activities.  The intense cardio will be done either on the eliptical or treadmil. 30 min's on each. On simple activiy days, I will weight lift, walk, jog, or launches.  After my 4 days aI will go to the track and run 1mile, which will be 4 laps on the track I will be going to. I will time myself, and record my endurance. I will do this for the fiirst 4 weeks of my training program

Month 2
--: I will increase my work out days to 5x's a week, and increase my run on the track to 2 miles, which is 8 laps around the track I will be running. I will give myself one rest day, which by marathon running standards I am still allowed to do light work outs, may it be on a bike, swim, or jog, or nothing at all. i will probably do yoga on these days. I will also increase my cardio workouts to 45mins, each.

I will give a later update on my 12 week program I will be doing by month 3, after I finish my two months. I want to focus on one phase then go to another.

As far as my eating i will be intaking 1200 cals per day, women should not eat no less than 1200 per day, and men no less than 1800 per day. To burn 1600 cals you need atleast 2hrs in the gym. Which why you need to trick your body by eating 6'x a day 6 small meals. and know what to eat to burn the right fat. I am no nutirtunist or expert, so speak with a physician before you begin any weight-loss plan. Also it's to my knowledge that to start off you should drop off 500 cals from your current cal intake per day, and no more than 1000 cals. You can't jump from one extreme to the next and expect results. Build your body up, in order to see loing lasting results.
